Mario Kart has been a Nintendo staple and a fan favorite since the Super Nintendo days, but one potentially awesome feature the series has always lacked is the ability to edit and create your own courses. While that desire may never be met in any official capacity, one dedicated fan is looking to give players that ability in Mario Kart: Double Dash.
SMW Central user shibboleet has been working on a Double Dash level editor since last Summer, and he recently released it in beta form. The editor (known as “DouBOL Dash”) can make simple changes like altering the lap count, the music, and the minimap, and it can also be used for more complex edits like adjusting the track’s geometry and specifying which path moving characters and objects should travel along.
