PlayStation 4 topped the US hardware charts for eight consecutive months stretching back to last year, but Microsoft is fighting back hard in recent months. The NPD Group has released their sales report for the month of October, revealing that Xbox One has now outsold PlayStation 4 for the fourth consecutive month. Xbox One sales were up 8% for the month over last year’s numbers, thanks largely to strong sales of Xbox One S. Microsoft heads into the holiday season with plenty of momentum, but November’s NPD report will include PlayStation 4 Pro sales, so Sony has a chance to reclaim their top spot.
