A recent comment from a Warner Bros. spokesperson to Eurogamer has confirmed that the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins will not have a multiplayer mode; however the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC versions will. The spokesperson elaborated on the decision, and while I don’t agree with it, I do understand their reasoning.
“MP will be available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The team is focusing development efforts on platforms with the largest MP audience.”
The multiplayer mode will focus on a three-way battle between between the Joker’s minions, Bane’s goons, and Batman & Robin. The combat is being developed by Brink creator Splash Damage.
Batman: Arkham Origins will be released on October 25th on Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A spinoff title for PS Vita and 3DS, called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, is currently in development at Armature Studio.
