The classic first-person shooter Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, originally released for Nintendo 64, is being remade as Turok EX, according to TechRaptor’s recent interview with Samuel “Kaiser” Villarreal. Kaiser has done a lot of work with rebuilding FPS titles, and he’s currently wrapping up development on his latest project, a remake of PowerSlave.

When asked about what he had planned for the future, Kaiser had the following to say:

“I was originally working on remaking N64
Turok [sic] (called Turok EX) but it got put off to the side. Since now Night Dive Studios has picked up the rights to re-release it, Turok EX will resume development later this year.” — Samuel “Kaiser” Villarreal

Night Dive Studios has worked extensively in re-releasing classic PC games. While their past would indicate that
Turok EX is likely to be released exclusively for PC, the fact that the original Turok launched on Nintendo 64 (this version being the most well-received) before being ported to Windows has fans wondering if a console release could be likely.
