During the era of the Nintendo Entertainment System, there was a series of games that made up the Light Gun series. These games were not played with a standard NES controller, but rather the Nintendo Zapper. The Zapper acted similarly to the Wii remote, as the TV would recognize where the player was pointing to on the screen.
Now, three of these Light Gun games have made their way to the Wii U Virtual Console: The Adventures of Bayou Billy, Hogan’s Alley, and Wild Gunman. Each title costs $4.99 USD, and they are available for purchase right now. In place of a Nintendo Zapper, the Light Gun games can played using a Wii Remote.
