The trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was met with intense backlash from the fans, who protested the game’s science fiction themes, wishing the franchise would return to its roots. The trailer quickly met with a 70% dislike ratio on YouTube, the highest dislike ratio for any Call of Duty game so far, forcing Activision to respond to the criticism.
Now, the trailer has surpassed two million dislikes, making it the second-most disliked video on YouTube, and holds a dislike ratio of almost 84%. Since the video has nearly 2.2 million dislikes and only 21 million views, this means that about 10% of viewers have given it a negative rating.
The single most disliked video on YouTube continues to be Justin Bieber’s
Baby, with over 6.1 million dislikes so far. However, Baby has been viewed over 1.3 billion times, almost 62 times more than the trailer for Infinite Warfare. It also only holds a dislike ratio of about 69%.
The original trailer for
Infinite Warfare can be seen above. The main aspect criticized by the fans was the use of sci-fi themes, such as space travel, and the decision to release Modern Warfare Remastered exclusively with Infinite Warfare‘s Legacy Edition, and not separately.
