Pokémon Reorchestrated, a well-known Pokémon fan project that makes beautiful, orchestral renditions of classic songs from the games’ soundtracks, was hit with two copyright claims by The Pokémon Company last week. As a result, all of the Kanto Symphony tracks were removed, and channel creator Braxton Burks was warned that a third strike would result in his channel being deleted.
Unfortunately for fans of Reorchestrated, that third strike came yesterday and the channel has been terminated. All of the music from Pokémon Reorchestrated was licensed, but Burks apparently lacked the specific license needed for YouTube. Hopefully this can be resolved in the future, but for now, you can still listen to the tracks on
Well! It's official. The Pokémon Company issued another takedown. As of now, the PREO YouTube channel has been terminated.
