The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had tons of game-changing features for the Zelda franchise. Epic story telling, motion controls, and some of the most unique items in the series. This story isn’t about any of that. My father stopped playing video games a long time ago. However, he still says that Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is his favorite game of all time, with the original Legend of Zelda falling not too far behind. One day, he walked in on me playing Twilight Princess. After standing there for five or so minutes, he turned to me as I dove off of Zora’s Waterfall and asked, “This is cool and all, but can you still cut the grass?”

It’s amazing to think that in twenty years we had gone from cutting pixelated grass to transforming into wolves that can talk to spirits. With the newest Legend of Zelda coming into a better focus, who knows what will happen now that it’s been thirty years.

We all have Zelda stories like the one above. Be it your first time playing, or even your last, we want to hear what your greatest memory playing Zelda is. With high hopes for its future, let’s all wish a happy 30th birthday to one of the greatest game franchises of all time, The Legend of Zelda. Tell us your stories in the comments below!
