Poncho was released last year in November for PlayStation 4, PC, and Linux. At the time, publisher Rising Star Games announced that a Wii U version would release at some point, and after almost a year that Wii U port is becoming a reality. This title is a side-scrolling 2D parallax platformer where the player can switch between layers of the world by going in and out of the background. The game’s protagonist is a robot called Poncho, the story can be philosophical, and the gameplay revolves around old style 2D platforming mixed with challenging puzzles.

The announcement trailer shows Wii U gameplay, though we have yet to learn how the GamePad will factor into this. But you don’t have to wait very long to find out, as the game will be released on August 18th, 2016. Check it out above, and let us know what you think of
Poncho coming to Wii U in the comments below!
