Earlier we reported that the Tetris movie adaption would be a trilogy, but now one of the producers, Larry Kasanoff, has told us why. Apparently the story they have conceived is so big that they need three movies to tell it. In other words, they managed to turn a game that consists entirely of lining up falling blocks into an “epic, sci-fi story” that needs three full movies to tell. Kasanoff also stated that nobody yet has guessed what they are actually doing with the movie.

“That’s correct, and purely because the story we conceived is so big. This isn’t us splitting the last one of our eight movies in two to wring blood out of the stone. It’s just a
big story.

“We’re not going to have blocks with feet running around the movie, but it’s great that people think so. It sets the bar rather low! I guarantee you it’s not what you think. No one has come remotely close to figuring out what we’re doing.” — Larry Kasanoff

Since Kasanoff stated that nobody has yet guessed what the movies will actually be about, we eagerly want to hear your ideas. What do you think that a three-movie
Tetris story will be? A scary thriller of a dystopian world where all who try to fit in mysteriously disappear? A wild adventure where planet Earth gets attacked by strange, Tetris block-shaped space ships? Something else entirely? Let us know in the comments below!

Our Verdict

Ward Westerink
Hello everyone! I have been gaming for as long as I can remember. I still feel as enthousiastic about it as when I was a kid, perhaps even more. Though I have fun playing any kind of game, my favorite genre has to be JRPG's. I am also very passionate about Nintendo, I was brought up with their games and they do have a special place in my heart. I am also very passionate about writing, be it stories or articles, and that's why I'll try to do my very best here! P.S. Wario is number 1!
