Nintendo made its mobile debut with Miitomo earlier this year, but they saved the big guns for the holiday season. Super Mario Run officially launched on iOS devices yesterday, and it’s off to a hot start. According to a report from Venture Beat (with additional information provided by Sensor Tower), Super Mario Run shot top the top of the download charts in 62 countries on its first day. This includes the United States.

Even though the game doesn’t feature microtransactions (opting instead for a one-time payment of $10 to upgrade the app from a demo to the full experience), it’s proving profitable as well. Super Mario Run quickly shot up to number seven on the iOS revenue charts in the US, and it became the top-grossing app in Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia on day one.
