The World Ends With You has a very strong fanbase that has been asking for a sequel for quite sometime. Square Enix released an iOS port of the game a few years ago, and when beating this version of the game, the player is met with an image that seems to tease that a sequel is on the way. However the game’s producer, Tetsuya Nomura, has said that a sequel isn’t in the works as of now.

Nomura added that while he knows that the game is popular in the West, he wants to assemble the right team that can make a game that’s at least as good as the original. While it seems fans might not get their sequel anytime soon, it seems that Nomura has at least acknowledged the want for a sequel, and he may act upon it when he gets the time to get together the right people.

Would you guys like to see a sequel? What kind of things would you want to see in it? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
