Speaking with DualShockers at Gamescom 2015, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata was asked about his goal of having the game running at 1080p and 30fps on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Tabata acknowledged a technical difference between the consoles, but he stated that he’s still working on it. As for hitting 60fps, Tabata said it would not be possible on consoles, but it could be achieved on a high-end gaming PC.
Final Fantasy XV is only planned to release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and this is because Tabata feels that people have been waiting a long time for the game and he wants to release it as quickly as possible. Working on the PC version as well would slow down production of the console versions. However, Tabata revealed that once the console version is finished, his team will consider releasing the game for PC as well.
