Ever since Nintendo Switch launched a year and a half ago, fans have been requesting the addition of cloud saves. As it stands, if your console gets damaged or lost, you could lose hundreds and hundreds of hours of progress across your various save files. Thankfully, Nintendo will be bringing the much-requested feature to Switch later this month as part of the paid Nintendo Switch Online membership program.

However, Nintendo Switch Online will not have universal cloud save coverage. Nintendo revealed back in May that
some games simply won’t support the feature. No specifics were given at the time, but as September rolls on and Nintendo Switch Online’s release draws near, some eShop descriptions have been upgraded to include information about cloud saves.

As it turns out, some pretty major titles are skipping the feature.
Splatoon 2 and Pokémon: Let’s Go both currently have a disclaimer on their eShop listing that states “This game does not support Save Data Cloud backup.” Other games with this message include NBA 2K19, FIFA 19, Dead Cells, and Dark Souls Remastered.
