Update: While the Pirates of the Caribbean world in Kingdom Hearts II was known as Port Royale, it appears the name will be changed in Kingdom Hearts III to simply “the Caribbean” to reflect the more open-world aspect of the level.

Original: Kingdom Hearts III dropped a third E3 trailer at Sony’s press conference, revealing that Sora, Donald, and Goofy are going to return to Port Royale, a world based on the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Not only that, but the trailer gave us a better look at some of the returning cast.

From what’s been shown, it looks like Sora’s adventure in Port Royale will follow the plot of the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean movies, introducing characters like Tia Dalma to the world. This makes Port Royale the second returning level in
Kingdom Hearts III, right after Hercules‘ Olympus Coliseum. The trailer also showed off the world’s ship battling and underwater combat.

Additionally, the trailer finally revealed Kairi’s new appearance, and gives everyone a glimpse of Riku having a conversation with the Riku Replica.

Kingdom Hearts III will hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th, 2019. A limited edition Kingdom Hearts III PS4 Pro will be available as well, and you can check out a picture of that below!

Hi, I'm Mark. I'm like Statler and Waldorf if they were one person, except cuter. I'm an aspiring author, a Nintendo fanboy, and a recovering Sonic fanboy. But you can never really recover from that. I main Lucina in Smash Bros, and I think that says more about me than anything else can.
