For the past couple of months, it appeared that Sony was teasing the revival of the Crash Bandicoot series. During last year’s PlayStation experience event, PlayStation boss Shawn Layden appeared to tease fans by wearing a t-shirt that featured Crash Bandicoot. Earlier this year, PlayStation Mid East’s Twitter account teased Crash with a picture and a message that said “Most wanted person… where are you Crash?” In Uncharted 4, Naughty Dog inserted an Easter Egg into the game that allows Nathan Drake to play an emulated version of Crash Bandicoot. This prompted Vice President of Publisher & Developer Relations Adam Boyes to respond to a fan who was asking about the status of Crash Bandicoot‘s future. Boyes reiterated previous answers and said “yes, as I’ve said before Activision owns the rights to Crash Bandicoot.”
Despite Boyes shooting down any possibility of a new Crash game being in the works by Naughty Dog, I am still holding out hope that Sony will surprise us at this year’s E3. Based on the sheer amount of Crash teasers we’ve had for the past couple of months has me really hopeful. Do you think Crash Bandicoot is poised to make a comeback? Sound off in the comments below!
