Electronic Arts and Jo-Mei Games are bringing a new third-person exploration game to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2019. In a world where humans turn into monsters when they get lonely, players will navigate Sea of Solitude while trying to transform back from being a monster themselves.
The story is about a lonely character who turned into a monster due to her loneliness. Now players will help her explore the world by navigating on a boat and running across rooftops to learn how it happened and change her back. Monsters live below the surface of the water, however, and present a danger to the player. From the gameplay trailer, it looks like players can swim, sail, run, jump, and confront monsters large and small throughout the game.
Jo-Mei Games is an indie studio in Berlin. With Sea of Solitude, they’re trying to tackle topics of loneliness in a playful way. The game is colorful with a cel-shaded look, and it releases in early 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
