YouTuber SuperMetalDave64 who runs NintenGen has been posting a series of juicy rumors which he claims come from a verified Nintendo of America employee. As with all rumors, we advise you to be skeptical, but some of what he claims has been corroborated by other sources. In addition to reporting that NX supports Unreal Engine 4, two Final Fantasy games are coming to NX, and a Pokémon 20th Anniversary game is on the way, Dave claims to have inside info on the NX launch.
According to his sources, Nintendo NX will be launching in 2016, as many have speculated. Additionally, he reports that “Zelda NX” is set to release at launch or during the launch window, which would end in March, 2017. Although not explicitly stated, it appears that he’s referring to an NX version of the Zelda game already in development for Wii U, as he states “Nintendo is trying to release Zelda Wii U and Zelda NX at the same time period for the holiday season 2016.”
The rumor goes on to say that there is currently only one unannounced Wii U game slated to launch in the second half of 2016, but that we’ll be seeing something Minecraft-related (possibly DLC) on Wii U in the next few months. The source also claims that Star Fox Zero is still expected to launch in April, despite rumored quality assurance problems.
