Pokkén Tournament began life as an arcade game in Japan, but soon the whole world will be able to enjoy the Pokémon/Tekken hybrid fighter. Pokkén Tournament is set to launch worldwide on Wii U in just over a month, on March 18th. The Pokémon Company has already announced that they currently have no plans to add extra content to the game after it launches on Wii U, but in the meantime, new content is still being announced for the arcade version. In fact, the latest update to the game in Japan adds in six new support Pokémon. Popular Eevee evolutions Espeon and Umbreon have joined the fight along with Cubone, Diglett, Magneton, and even Quagsire.

Espeon can heal status conditions and restore Hit Points with Morning Sun, and the amount of health raised increases as the clock winds down. Umbreon can suck up the opponent’s Resonance Gauge with Snarl, preventing them from landing critical hits. Cubone’s Boomerang is a quick long-range attack that can hit multiple times and bring opponents toward you. With Diglett’s Dig, you can easily land combos on an opponent after hitting them. Magneton’s Tri Attack lowers the Speed & Attack of your opponents, and (since it aims upward) it’s especially good against jumping opponents. Finally, Quagsire can attack ground players with Mud Bomb, dealing damage even if they’re guarding.
