Pokémon GO quickly shot to the top of the charts when it launched back in July, but its active users and revenue stream have declined in recent weeks, dropping as low as number ten. Developer Niantic decided to prompt more activity with a special Halloween event (making “spooky” Pokémon more common and making it easier to rack up candy), and it’s paying off. According to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower, Pokémon GO is back on top, at least for now. Niantic will have to continue finding ways to entice players to stay active if they want that sweet, sweet cash to keep flowing in.
