The highly anticipated mobile game Pokémon GO finally released on Tuesday, and trainers everywhere have been going to the great outdoors in the hopes of catching them all. The game has resonated with players everywhere and is currently sitting at the top of iOS charts for the most downloaded applications.

Pokémon GO climbed to the No. 1 spot in just five hours, which is one-third of the time it took popular mobile game Clash Royale to reach the same spot. To add to that, users of the application are spending a decent amount of money as well. As of yesterday morning, Pokémon GO is also the top-grossing iPhone game, outperforming Nintendo’s own Miitomo, which only ever reached No. 73 on the charts despite how popular it was.

Are you enjoying Pokémon GO so far? How have you contributed to the game’s placement on these charts? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
