Back in March we learned the exciting news that Okami HD is officially coming to Nintendo Switch. Okami launched to critical acclaim in 2006, and Capcom gave it a fresh coat of paint with an HD re-release in 2012. Nintendo fans unfortunately haven’t been able to play the new and improved version up to this point, but that’s all changing soon.
Okami HD has just been given an official Nintendo Switch release date around the globe. You can look forward to this redesigned classic on August 9th. Capcom’s beloved game will be available for pre-order on Switch eShop today. Capcom hasn’t revealed the price yet (they say the pre-order is live on eShop, but it’s not yet appearing for me), but we know it was $19.99 on other platforms.
In Japan, it has been confirmed that the game will be available in two different versions. The standard version comes with a price tag of ¥2,990, or about $27. There’s also a limited edition version for ¥3,990, or about $36. We don’t yet have any details on what the limited edition version will include (or whether there will be a physical release), but we’ll be keeping our eyes out for more info.
