A few days ago, an interview with Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that Nintendo was considering making movies and that they aimed to
release their first one within two or three years. It appears that somewhere along the translation process, some numbers got mixed up. In reality, Kimishima stated that he would like to see something happen within the next five years.

Kimishima was firm in stating that there isn’t a particular time at which some of these projects would be announced, but they aren’t trying to push it out extensively:

“While I can’t say a particular year, we are in specific talks at the moment. Of course we’d like to make use of any income from this year, but I can’t say we’re pushing it to something five years out. I’d like to make something happen before that.” — Tatsumi Kimishima
