Last year, Nintendo held the nationwide Splatoon Koshien tournament in Japan, and the finals were held in January this year. The company just revealed that they will be holding the tournament again next year on February 11th and 12th. The initial qualifying rounds for the tournament will take place in several Japanese locations from September to January.

In the competitions, players will take part in turf wars and can choose from all weapons and gear. The stage for each match will be randomly chosen from Walleye Warehouse, Museum d’Alfonsino, Piranha Pit, Urchin Underpass, Kelp Dome, Ancho-V Games, Mahi-Mahi Resort, and Flounder Heights.

Here are the dates for the initial tournaments:

September 25: Tokai (Nagoya)
October 16: Hokkaido (Sapporo)
October 22: Tohoku (Morioka)
November 5: Kinki (Osaka)
November 20: Shikoku (Takamatsu)
November 23: Chugoku (Hiroshima)
December 3: Kyushu (Fukuoka)
January 21-22: Kanto (Tokyo)
