Square Enix’s CEO, Phil Rogers, has confirmed that the critically acclaimed 2013 Tomb Raider reboot will receive a sequel. In an open letter from Rogers, he confirmed that the sequel is “well into development.”

“I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently.” –Phil Rogers

This announcement comes in light of a Comic-Con announcement by Dark Horse comics, who confirmed they were producing a series of Tomb Raider comics to be set after the conclusion of the first game and to lead into the events of a sequel.

“It’s still early days, so I’m afraid I can’t provide any further details for now save my assurance that we’re not resting on our laurels and acclaim from Tomb Raider’s recent successes, but working hard to raise the bar even higher and re-affirm the faith you’ve shown.” –Phil Rogers

Are you looking forward to the newest installment in the franchise? Do you plan on following the comic story lines as well? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
