Every now and then in the gaming industry, someone will throw out the idea that consoles are dying out. This tends not to end up being true, and towards the end of today’s Xbox Conference, Microsoft confirmed that they are certainly not giving up on the console space going forward. With most of the game reveals all wrapped up, Phil Spencer returned to the stage and confirmed that the company is hard at work on their next console.
“And of course, our hardware team, the same team that delivered unprecedented performance with Xbox One X, is deep into architecting the next Xbox consoles, where we will once again deliver on our commitment to set the benchmark of console gaming.” — Phil Spencer
It’s no surprise that Microsoft has already started work on their next console, but I’m sure Xbox fans are happy to hear it nonetheless. After today’s E3 conference, are you excited to see where Microsoft’s hardware takes them next?
