Mass Effect fans have been waiting a long time for the next entry in the franchise, and that wait is finally almost over. Developer BioWare
recently announced that Mass Effect: Andromeda will launch in North America on March 21st. European gamers will get the game two days later. Once the game launches, there will inevitably be new content added as DLC over time.
We don’t know much about BioWare’s plans for Andromeda DLC, but one thing we do know is that they aren’t planning to offer a season pass. BioWare General Manager Aaryn Flynn confirmed this by issuing a simple “Nope” when asked about the possibility on Twitter. Flynn was also asked about the possibility of story DLC (paid or free) and free multiplayer DLC, to which he replied “We’ll talk more about that later :)”
It’s interesting to hear that there won’t be a season pass, but I’m personally glad they’re not talking about DLC details right now. The focus should be on releasing a polished product that’s a great value to customers on day one, regardless of post-launch content.
