Nintendo just announced that it will be releasing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a revamped version of Mario Kart 8, on Nintendo Switch. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will feature a ton of new characters, some new stages, and a completely redesigned battle mode.
Although this wasn’t included in the trailer itself, Nintendo has now announced that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will launch on April 28th, 2017.
Among the new characters are King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr., as well as Isabelle and the Villager from Animal Crossing, who were previously DLC for Mario Kart 8. The Feather and Boo items from previous Mario Kart games are making a return as well. The trailer for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also showed off a new Splatoon-themed stage, and it seems like the Splatoon‘s Inklings will be playable characters as well. The battle mode now features dedicated battle stages and a proper redesigned battle system, with five balloons to every player.
