Hideo Kojima Was Named the "Industry Icon" at TGA and Got Last Year's Award in-Person

Last year, Hideo Kojima did not attend The Game Awards due to conflicts with Konami, which Kojima had left earlier that year. Geoff Keighley took a moment to make note of this during today’s Game Awards, and after a heartfelt speech thanking Kojima for his hard work and determination even after he had left Konami, Keighley presented Kojima with the award for “Industry Icon.” This was met with a roar of applause, which showed just how many fans really look up to the man.
