Yesterday, we reported that a GameStop-exclusive three-pack containing the R.O.B., Duck Hunt, and Mr. Game & Watch Amiibo would be available for preorder on August 8th at 9:00 AM; now, we have more information on how the event will work.

According to a compilation of information from a moderator on Reddit, a PowerUp Rewards Pro membership could be required to attend the preorder event, which is scheduled to start an hour before most GameStop stores open.

There have been conflicting reports about whether or not the paid subscription will be required, with the latest report suggesting that it will not be required; however, the reports have been changing, so the subscription could end up being required by all stores on Saturday. It’s also possible that some stores could choose to impose the rule, but not all of them. If a Pro subscription is required, then you can wait until the last minute and purchase one on Saturday with the Amiibo; there is no restriction based on how long you’ve been a Pro member.

The user also states that the three-pack will cost $34.99, but buyers will only be required to pay $5 up front; he also states that the stores should receive their allocation numbers on Thursday, and that they should be posted at the store entrances on Friday night. Also, there are five SKUs in the system in addition to the three-pack, which the user states are likely Disney Infinity figures but could be other upcoming Amiibo.
