A few days ago, we learned that Nintendo would be removing a controversial support conversation from Fire Emblem Fates outside of Japan. After that, Nintendo stated that the game is indeed being changed to make it appropriate for other regions. Today, Kotaku has confirmed the removal of a “petting minigame” included in Fates, in which the player strokes characters using the stylus on the bottom Nintendo 3DS screen.
When asked if this minigame was not being included in Western releases, Nintendo had this to say:
“Yes, that is the case. You might have heard somewhat misinterpreted or exaggerated information about the Japanese original game, but even in the Japanese original version, we have not included any features which are considered inappropriate in Japan.” — Nintendo
