For better or worse, we live in the age of DLC. Post-game downloadable content is everywhere, from Street Fighter and The Witcher to Call of Duty and Batman: Arkham Knight.

Although they were a little bit late to the party, Nintendo seems to have fully embraced the concept as of late. Following The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s example, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be getting a season pass. And it’s not coming cheap.

The Fire Emblem titles on the 3DS are no strangers to DLC (the past two games featured downloadable map packs), but this is the first time it will be getting a full-on pass. For $44.99, the season pass will get you 5 DLC packs featuring content like new maps and classes along with extra story. The packs can also be purchased individually, and range in price from $5.99 to $14.99. You can learn more about the individual packs in the DLC trailer above.

The first round of DLC will release along with the game itself on May 19th.

What do you think about this expensive add-on pass? Let us know in the comments!
