Welcome to Round 3 of Gamnesia’s Ultimate RPG Showdown! Today officially marks the beginning of our semi-finals in this tournament, and we will change our rules slightly to accommodate for the raised stakes. As those of you have been following the tourney know (or as you might have guessed from the above image), our first match pits Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver against Mother 3. Unlike all our matches up to this point, both of our semi-finals bouts will last 3 days, so we have a bit more time to gather votes.
Whichever game wins today’s match will earn a spot in our finals in about a week, and a bit more time in the spotlight through a featured article and another week of competition. Moving over to the opposite side of the bracket, you’ll see that Golden Sun is pitted against Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Yesterday’s poll gave Paper Mario a solid victory, although it came down to a mere 1%(!) between it and The World Ends With You. A valiant fight, but a winner is you, Paper Mario. We’ll revisit these two in just a few days when it’s time to decide on our other finalist.
To vote, simply use the poll included above. Match-ups have been extended to three days, so you have through this Tuesday, July 19th to vote for your champ. There’s no going back once the poll closes, so make sure to gather all the support you can for your favorite. Which game will make it to the finals? Be sure to check back soon to find out, and don’t forget to visit the tournament’s hub page, where you can find the complete list of contenders, as well as up-to-date standings.
The combatants for the next match-up are: Golden Sun & Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
A reminder to readers and voters: Please be civil with one another. This tournament is for everyone’s enjoyment, and we want it to stay fun for all who choose to be involved, no matter which games they support. Those who attack others in the comments will be temporarily banned and, if they continue to do so, will removed indefinitely. We really do not want to do this, so please keep it rated E (or E10), and thanks for your enthusiasm!
