Skyrim and Chrono Trigger both earned relatively easy wins in their respective brackets, and they will be front and center in just a few days once we get into Round 2. Today’s focus is all about choosing the final game to join them, and it includes quite a few fan-favorites from those of you here at Gamnesia.
Nintendo has featured rather prominently throughout this tournament thus far, and our final Round 1 bracket is all about the Big N’s legendary icon: Mario (and friends). We have
Super Mario RPG: Legend of Seven Stars starting off our group with an entry created alongside Square (and recently featured on the Wii U eShop). Next up are two of the most beloved entries in the Paper Mario series: Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Finally, Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story rounds out this crew of titles with an entry from the humorous and quirky Mario & Luigi RPG series.
To vote, simply use the poll included above, but be quick! Match-ups in this round only last a day and there’s no going back, so once the poll closes, it’s closed for good. Which
Mario game reigns supreme? Be sure to check back tomorrow to find out, and don’t forget to visit the tournament’s hub page, where you can find the complete list of contenders, as well as up-to-date standings.
The combatants for the next match-up, and the first match of
Round 2(!) are: Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and Diablo.
A reminder to readers and votes: Please be civil with one another. This tournament is for everyone’s enjoyment, and we want it to stay fun for all who choose to be involved, no matter which games they support. Those who attack others in the comments will be temporarily banned and, if they continue to do so, will removed indefinitely. We really do not want to do this, so please keep it rated E (or E10), and thanks for your enthusiasm!
