If you’re one of the lucky people playing the Legend of Zelda spinoff Hyrule Warriors, you might be interested to know that Zelda supervisor Eiji Aonuma posted a blog post on Miiverse today regarding the recently released game. He wrote that the upcoming DLC pack for the game would include a new ‘weapon’: Link’s horse, Epona.
And before you start arguing that Epona isn’t really a weapon, you can use her to blow hordes of enemies away with a single kick and ride her around the battlefield, giving you a chance to outflank your enemies with pure speed. Epona’s design appears to be based on a cross between the Twilight Princess design and the design seen in the trailer for the 2015 game. She also has plain metal barding on her head, distinguishing this particular design from the others. You can also use her to fight bosses as well.
“In the Zelda series, players never had a chance to tackle bosses by galloping around them with Epona like in Hyrule Warriors, so I hope fans will enjoy playing as Zelda characters in a game with a different type of action than you typically find in the original series.” — Eiji Aonuma
The DLC pack, known as the Master Quest Pack, will also bring new scenarios and costumes to the game, and is available from the Nintendo eShop. Hyrule Warriors is available as of today.
