Since the passing of Satoru Iwata last week, thousands of people across the globe expressed their condolences and gratitude for all that he has done for them. The Nintendo World Store in New York City had a huge line of people waiting to write a message to show their respects to the late Iwata in the notebooks provided. In addition to the personal messages, fans also left dozens of illustrations, flowers, and other memorabilia such as a signed Wiimote.

It’s a remarkable thing to see gamers across the globe setting aside their differences to pay respects to the man who has brought smiles to many people’s faces.
