BioWare is hosting a contest to give fans the opportunity to voice a character in the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. Winners of the competition will be given an all-expenses-paid trip to one of BioWare’s studios in the United States, where they will perform in a professional recording session and will be given a small role in the final game.

To enter the contest, fans must record themselves reading one of the sample scripts found on this website and email their final recordings to [email protected] Only legal residents of the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand may enter. According to the contest guidelines, all applications must be turned in before September 28th, 2016 at 6:59 AM Greenwich Mean Time, and applicants will hear back from the company on November 30th.

BioWare has provided two separate scripts that contestants may read in their auditions. In the first script, the contestant plays the role of Jordan Tate, a “smart and talented indie documentarian” who wants to make a film that gives outsiders a real perspective of life on Andromeda. In the second script, contestants play the role of an unnamed mercenary who discusses the quality of life on Andromeda with one of his colleagues. The company does not encourage the use of props, costumes, or accents in the audition; although using them won’t disqualify a candidate, BioWare will not take any of those aspects into account while judging an application. The only thing that will be judged is the quality of a contestant’s acting and the way their regular speaking voice fits in the Mass Effect universe.

What do you guys think? Are you planning on applying to this contest? This certainly seems like a nice opportunity for any aspiring voice actors, and it’s a kind gesture on BioWare’s behalf to give fans the chance to take part in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Good luck!
