Back in March, Nintendo announced that Paper Mario: Color Splash would be releasing on the Wii U later this year. Currently, the game is available for preorder at Amazon, but the game’s listing on Amazon could suggest that we will be seeing multiple editions of it at launch. Amazon’s listing for the game refers to it as the “Standard Edition,” which seems like an unnecessary distinction if there is only one version of the game. This has led many to believe that there could be some sort of special edition version of the game, possibly with new Amiibo or some other kind of pack-in. However, it could be a mistake on Amazon’s part, or it could be their way of distinguishing between the retail and digital versions.
