The Nintendo Switch has a lot of great games coming its way this year, but one that fans who skipped over the Wii U are no doubt looking forward to is Pokkén Tournament DX, the Switch’s enhanced version of the Pokémon fighting game. For those who can’t wait for the game to release on September 22nd, however, Nintendo has you covered. Nintendo has announced that the title will have its own downloadable demo, and it’s coming fast!
Pokkén Tournament DX‘s demo releases tonight, August 23th, at 9:00 PM PST. That’s at midnight for our readers on the east coast of the US, and early in the morning of August 24th for our European friends. We don’t yet know exactly what all the demo will contain, but you can expect to be able to try out at least a few of the many Pokémon fighters, supports, and stages.
As somebody who skipped out on it when it released on the Wii U, I’m definitely going to check out this demo before grabbing the Switch version next month. What about you guys? Are you going to be checking out this demo? Hit the comments to let us know what you think of the game!
Update: Reddit users are reporting that the Japanese demo, which has already released, is limiting players to just fifteen matches in the demo—however, it also appears that you can simply delete the demo’s data from your switch and redownload it to reset that counter. We’ll have to wait a few more hours to see if that restriction, and the trick to get around it, applies to the western version.
